The Dordogne region at the heart of the P’erigord abounds with clear flowing rivers, pretty hill top villages and medieval chateaus built with the local stone.  Vineyard grace the hillsides and winery’s around every corner.  

The are prehistoric caves to explore, market towns with cobbled street such as Sarlat.  

Plus the gastronomic delights of the region abound in the restaurants, the region renowned for it’s truffles, foie gras “Marget de Canard”  The Dordogne region has so much to offer it is an truly magical place for the visitor to France.

The Papillons 

8 Bedrooms and a 1 bedroom Gite 

A charming converted Farmhouse just a few  minutes walk for Beynac  a beautiful medieval village set in the shadow of the magnificent Chateau towering above the village on a craggy hillside of golden rock. 

The farmhouse owned and operated by the Andrew and Tom is a truly relaxing setting for a holiday based in the Dordogne region.  A renovated Farmhouse with a charming courtyard filled with beautiful geraniums is the setting for Breakfast and the Farmhouse garden supplies the kitchen with home grown vegetables and herbs.  The resident Chickens supply all the eggs for breakfast and the cockerel will act a as a superb alarm…… life is slow and relaxed at Papillons.

Andrew the resident Chef has a superb repartee of classic dishes.  Dinner is served in a low ceiling dining room and a huge fireplace warms the room on chilly winter evenings.  Tom’s knowledge of local wine will let you enjoy some of the region’s best and don’t forget ask his opinion for the essential “take some wine home”
